What factors affect the fermentation of organic fertilizer?

2023/03/16

Organic fertilizer fermentation is a complex process, which is affected by many factors, including the following aspects:

Selection of raw materials: The type and quality of raw materials of organic fertilizer have a great influence on the effect of fermentation. Generally speaking, raw materials containing higher carbohydrate and nitrogen elements, such as straw, wheat grass, bean cake, etc., are more suitable for fermentation.

Humidity: Humidity is one of the key factors affecting the fermentation of organic fertilizer. If the humidity is too high, it will lead to the anaerobic decomposition of organic matter, produce bad odor and harmful gases, affecting the fermentation effect; If the humidity is too low, it will make microorganisms unable to reproduce and grow, and then affect the maturity and quality of organic fertilizer.

       Ventilation:
Proper ventilation is conducive to the reproduction and metabolism of microorganisms, which is conducive to the fermentation process. Insufficient or excessive ventilation will affect the fermentation effect of organic manure.

Temperature: Temperature is one of the important factors affecting the fermentation speed and quality of organic fertilizer. Generally speaking, the suitable fermentation temperature is 25~40. If the temperature is too low, the fermentation time will be prolonged. If the temperature is too high, it will speed up the microbial metabolic process, leading to loss of control and mass loss.

pH value: The appropriate pH value is conducive to the reproduction and metabolism of microorganisms, which is conducive to the fermentation process.

To sum up, suitable composting machine should be selected instead of manual, so as to reduce the influence of these factors and greatly improve the success rate.
