To fix uneven pellet size produced by a diac granulator, consider the following:
1. Adjust equipment parameters: The disc's inclination angle significantly influences pellet formation and size. Generally, the disc's inclination should be adjusted between 30° and 50°. If the angle is too large, the material is easily thrown out of the disc; if it is too small, the material's residence time in the disc is short, resulting in incomplete pelletization. If the rotation speed is too high, the material is subjected to strong centrifugal force within the disc, making it difficult to agglomerate into pellets; if the rotation speed is too slow, the material is not fully agitated, resulting in uneven pellet size. The rotation speed should be adjusted based on the production capacity requirements of the organic fertilizer production line.
2. Optimize material properties: The moisture content of the material should be controlled between 18% and 22%. If the material is too wet, add rice husk powder (adjust to 5-8%). If the material is too dry, use an atomizer to add moisture. Ensure that the fiber content of the raw materials is uniform. Mix any uneven materials before pelletizing.
3. Improve operating procedures: Strictly control the feed rate and speed to maintain uniformity and stability. Avoid fluctuating feed rates, which can lead to unstable granulation and uneven particle size.
4. Regularly maintain the equipment: Clean the disc bottom daily to prevent lumps that affect pellet formation. Check the scraper weekly for wear and replace it if it exceeds 3mm. Regularly lubricate the transmission and motor to reduce friction and extend equipment life.
These measures can effectively solve the problem of uneven particle size produced by the disc granulator, improving product quality and production efficiency.
